General Motors announced today that it will offer a dealer-installed wireless Internet system in seven models. Chevrolet Wi-Fi by Autonet Mobile is a dealer-installed system that allows full Internet use inside and around the vehicle, according to the company. It’s being offered in the Chevy Equinox, Traverse, Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche and Express. Through Dec. 31, GM is offering it for $199, which includes a $200 mail-in rebate with two-year service agreement. The service is $29 a month, and there’s an advanced one for $59 a month, which includes more data services.“Chevrolet Wi-Fi by Autonet Mobile enhances commuting, family vacations and work,” Chris Rauser, Chevrolet accessories manager, said in a statement. “It benefits active families on the go, as well as professionals who need immediate information at remote job sites. Its uses are almost endless.”
